Founder, Deep Blue Geophysics
Kerry Key, PhD, is the founder of Deep Blue Geophysics and a leading expert in computational electromagnetics for resource exploration. He previously held tenured faculty positions at Columbia University and Scripps Institution of Oceanography, where he developed the widely used MARE2DEM inversion code. Kerry now leads Deep Blue’s development of next-generation EM solutions, with current work focused on full-physics spectral IP imaging with controlled-source EM. By moving beyond legacy approximations, his methods deliver the high-fidelity subsurface characterization required for modern mineral discovery. With over 25 years of experience spanning deep-sea expeditions to polar ice sheets, he specializes in bridging advanced computational geophysics with the practical demands of exploration
