Overview
As we witness increasing efforts to find and produce natural hydrogen and helium around the world, this workshop considers the question: (if costs weren’t an issue) what role might geophysics play?
This forum will begin with a keynote presentation by Emanuelle Frery of CSIRO, discussing the state of play for linking geophysics, geology and geochemistry and what this means in practice for H2/He exploration.
Our invited speakers (listed below) will focus on specific geophysical methods that they have tested, or would propose for use, by H2/He explorers.
| Speaker | Affiliation |
|---|---|
| Ema Frery | CSIRO |
| Krista Davies | Prominence Energy |
| Jelena Markov | CSIRO |
| Larissa Hansen | Total Seismic |
| Tim Rady | Faraday Geophysics |
| Juan Herrara | Adelaide University |
| Rumi Daruso | Adelaide University |
| James Parsons | QIntegral |
| Jarrod Spencer | Department for Energy and Mining, SA |
The workshop will conclude with a panel discussion, involving the presenters and some key stakeholders (explorers, regulators), giving participants a chance to ask burning questions and form a view on which techniques could deliver the most value in advancing this potential new industry.
What are the learning outcomes?
Updated knowledge/awareness of a new industry
Who should attend?
Any geophysicist interested in H2/He exploration
